The parade will begin at 11:00 AM, but you are encouraged to find a place to watch by 9:00 as the sidewalks fill up fast. Hosted by the Los Gatos Lion's Club and the Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Department.
Plan to arrive early for the best viewing locations. The weather is usually beautiful, but bring an umbrella just in case :-) Dress warmly - it's cold in the morning.

History Museums of San Jose presents a period fashion show followed by a traditional Victorian Tea. Fashion show starts at 2:00 p.m. and tea at 3:15 p.m. Come early to see the Forbes Family doll collection in period attire on display. Cost $17 per person. Come to Vasona Park today (Sunday, May 31) to celebrate the opening of the renovated Oak Meadow Park playground, and to participate in the dedication of the John Lyndon cupola. Festivities start at 1:00 PM. Mayor Linda Lubek will host the event, which will be followed by music, refreshments and games for the kids.

Calico Technology has selected Los Gatos as its location for their international sales meeting. 80 people will be staying in the Toll House of Los Gatos for the entire week and frequenting local establishments.

LOS GATOS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY: This event will be held at the Plaza Park during the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Santa Claus will be available for the kids after the Christmas Tree Lighting. The Los Gatos High School Band will be playing holiday music during the event.
Come out and see the new bridge!
The new bridge has been set and is open to the public. Take the Los Gatos Creek Trail to Lark Avenue and you will see it. Now there is no need to climb the 25% slope up to Lark Avenue or to J-walk across Lark Avenue. The improvements surrounding the new bridge are almost complete as well. Notice the bridge deck, made of a wood/plastic composite recycled material .

ISRAELI INDEPENDENCE DAY: This event will take place at Plaza Park and is scheduled from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. There will be vendors and food booths at the Park. Montebello Way and Broadway Avenue, East of S. Santa Cruz Avenue will be closed during the event.
RUMMAGE SALE Large . . OR Small. . ...items are needed to help support the Los Gatos Police Department's Volunteers in Policing Rummage Sale. This second annual rummage sale will be held on Saturday, April 27th and Sunday April 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The location has not yet been decided.
The proceeds from the rummage sale will benefit the "Volunteers in Policing" program.

THE FORBES MILL FOOTBRIDGE YOUNG PEOPLE'S MURAL PROJECT
WORKSHOP free FEBRUARY 17
Teen Center "Outhouse" Located behind the LG High School
*Workshops are strongly suggested for those who are interested in painting a panel on the bridge. The workshops will supply historical references as well as art supplies to create a sketch of your design for a panel. The sketches will be used to determine placement on the bridge. Finished sketches will be exhibited in the Town Council Chambers during March.
January 25, 1996 THE GREAT RACE: This event is a run/walk that commences in Saratoga and finishes in the downtown area of Los Gatos. 3000 participants are expected.
Los Gatos' 39th Annual Children's Christmas/Holiday Parade will take place on Saturday, December 2, 1995.
The Parade starts at 11:00 A.M. but Los Gatos streets will be closed at 10:00 A.M. so come early and get the best vantage point and parking space. The Parade commences at Almenda & North Santa Cruz Avenue and proceeds south to Main Street, then East on Main Street to the Civic Center. The Parade is approximately 2 hours long with over 10 High School Bands participating along with 40 decorated floats and other assorted menagerie and horse enteries and, of course, Santa Claus!
