Once again, Fiesta de Artes will fill the Civic Center grounds on Saturday and Sunday, August 21nd and 22rd, 1999 to present the Town of Los Gatos' one and only art and wine festival. A tradition for over 29 years, the 1999 Fiesta will be sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos. With the departure of the Strawberry Festival, the Fiesta is the town's remaining venue for artisans, vintners, micro-brewers, entertainers and merchants to gather and celebrate with visitors from all over the San Francisco Bay Area.
Fiesta de Artes will attract tens of thousands of visitors each year to the historic Town of Los Gatos for two days of music, art, food and wine. The non-stop entertainment includes live bands, local talent, and over 150 quality vendors. Collectors and first-time visitors alike appreciate each year's custom-designed commemorative wine glasses that the Kiwanis Club sells to benefit local charities.
"We Build" ~ The Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos
celebrated
its 75th anniversary earlier this year. A member of Kiwanis
International, the
club is dedicated to the principles of altruistic service and the
building of
better communities. Specifically, the Los Gatos organization helps by
offering
scholarships, building school playgrounds, maintaining bike trails and
aiding
seniors. Other non-profit organizations (including DART, and Volunteers
in
Policing) participate in the Fiesta by providing volunteers as well as
in
raising community awareness of their various activities.
In previous years, supporters have included national firms,
award-winning
wineries such as Byington, Cooper-Garrod and Troquato.
This years sponsors will include
Los Gatos Brewing,
Stoddards Brewhouse,
KKSF and
KRTY.
There are many ways to participate, including: Sponsorship
Funding, recognized in Fiesta advertising and at the event; in-kind
products
or services (which helps raise awareness of your company); and an
Employee
Volunteer Program to show community involvement. All funds raised at
this
event will be returned to the comunity.
